Spotlight on Employee Volunteerism
Planting Pollinator-friendly Gardens
Employees planted more than 6,500 pollinator-friendly, native plants as part of a pollinator garden project at our Minneapolis River facility to create a critical habitat for bees, butterflies and other pollinating insects that play a vital role in our ecosystem.
Walking for Education
Houston-area employees raised funds for the 2021 National UNCF Virtual Walk for Education to help high school students further their education upon graduation. Nearly 440 employees participated on 26 teams, culminating in nearly 1,800 volunteer hours.

Responding to Severe Weather Events
In the midst of a natural disaster, our employees reinforce CenterPoint Energy’s reputation for helping those in need. In the aftermath of Hurricane Nicholas, we worked quickly to donate food items to first responders and nonprofit organizations throughout greater Houston and surrounding communities.
Sharing Knowledge with Students
Junior Achievement works to educate students in grades K-12 about entrepreneurship, work readiness and financial literacy. Employee volunteers across the company participate in career presentations, business trivia and virtual career days.

Leading the Way
Through the company’s 2021-22 United Way campaign, CenterPoint Energy employees raised $1 million to support the United Way of Greater Houston, providing much needed resources benefit our friends and neighbors in the greater Houston area.
